The Global Logistic Project Lead (m/f/d) is responsible for overseeing and optimizing end-to-end processes related to transportation and warehousing activities. This role manages all projects related to logistics topics and ensures that logistics operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives. The person will work closely with operational logistics teams in Central and Regional locations, as well as cross-functional teams, to lead projects, identify improvement areas, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a full-time position located at our headquarters in Cologne.

Job Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Project Execution:
   • Develop and execute logistics strategies to support business objectives
   • Oversee logistics projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to objectives and timelines
   • Support regional teams in tender processes and 3PL negotiations
2. Process Optimization:
   • Develop and maintain global logistics processes and SOPs
   • Develop and track KPIs to identify improvement areas and implement solutions to enhance performance and reduce costs
   • Implement supply chain risk management frameworks to mitigate disruptions
3. Stakeholder Collaboration:
   • Collaborate with internal logistics teams, IT, and external partners to ensure smooth project flow, optimize coordination, and build strong relationships
   • Act as the key liaison between logistics and IT, collaborating to design and secure logistics processes and ensure seamless integration with ERP systems
   • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of WMS/TMS systems
4. Digital Transformation & Innovation:
   • Drive digital transformation by implementing new technologies to enhance speed and accuracy
   • Lead the organization toward a more digitally advanced logistics function, optimizing operations and leveraging third-party logistics providers
5. Cross-functional Leadership:
   • Provide leadership and support to cross-functional logistics teams on project initiatives, fostering high performance and professional development
   • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across teams

Profile

• Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in logistics, transport, and warehousing management
• Deep understanding of logistics processes, regulations, and industry best practices
• Proficiency in TMS and WMS, including ERP integration
• Experience with digital logistics solutions and transformation initiatives
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage third-party providers
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent is a plus
• Willingness to travel (20-30%)
• Fluent in German and English
