Lead Commodity Sourcing Leader - Direct Labor

Job Description Summary

Negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies. Achieve the best contractual conditions while ensuring internal customer satisfaction. Possess knowledge of best practices and understand how your area integrates with others; be aware of the competition and market differentiators.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing and subcontracting for offshore projects' direct labor: installation, commissioning, mechanical, electrical, preservation, punch list, and subcontractors related to project quality and EHS.
  • Define direct labor supplier strategies, manage supplier panels, lead negotiations, and allocate needs. Manage end-to-end direct labor tenders, negotiate terms, and decide on supplier awards.
  • Research potential suppliers, select based on project requirements, and assess new suppliers.
  • Negotiate global master service agreements with strategic suppliers.
  • Monitor progress of frame agreements and purchase orders, evaluate supplier performance, and report quality and EHS records.
  • Conduct claim negotiations with the support of contract managers, prepare claims, and settle differences.
  • Analyze supplier data on costs, market needs, and price trends.
  • Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues, lead small low-risk projects, and facilitate team consensus. Communicate performance expectations and handle sensitive issues.
  • Operate with significant autonomy within established policies and review processes. Adapt procedures to meet quality, volume, and timeliness standards.
  • Use judgment to propose solutions outside set parameters for complex problems, prioritize data analysis, and leverage internal and external sources for decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in sourcing and commodity management, equivalent to a Bachelor's degree or relevant experience with a high school diploma.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience or education in indirect sourcing.
  • Negotiation skills and training.
  • Knowledge of contract terms and conditions.
  • Basic financial skills: hedging, NPV, financial reporting.
  • Understanding labor regulations, insurances, and taxes per country.
