We are looking for a full-time or part-time Software Engineer (m/f/d) for our TES team at our Hamburg-Bahrenfeld location as soon as possible.

Technology Enabled Solutions at Zeppelin Power Systems develops IoT solutions based on engine and system data for applications such as marine vessels, locomotives, and power plants. Our comprehensive AEC solution enables fleet-wide monitoring and full transparency, providing actionable insights into engine performance and environmental conditions.

Your responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS services, RabbitMQ, Flink, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and more.
  • Build and manage modern data storage solutions to support analytical and reporting use cases.
  • Develop and optimize APIs for seamless data access and system integration.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
  • Collaborate with internal and external development teams, contributing to and enhancing existing codebases.
  • Communicate effectively with peers to build high-quality, forward-thinking products.
  • Maintain consistency in documentation and code modularity for clarity and reusability.
  • Advance development best practices, including testing and automation improvements.

Your profile

  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a strong record of building and maintaining robust data pipelines.
  • Substantial experience with AWS services.
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL, Kafka, Flink, and RESTful APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C, C++, or Java.
  • Versatile, curious, and eager to expand expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Ability to see beyond tasks and consider the bigger picture.
  • Proficient in English and comfortable with remote teamwork.
