We are seeking a Public Policy expert with a keen interest in innovative technologies such as AI, combined with knowledge of the political and regulatory environment in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team addressing key public policy and regulatory issues, including AI regulation, competition, EU regulation harmonization, and promoting a policy agenda focused on innovation and economic growth. This role is based in Berlin and is a 12-month maternity leave cover, ideally from late May 2025 to late May 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement policy strategies and narratives in collaboration with other teams to meet company objectives in public policy.
• Build coalitions with organizations such as trade associations and companies to support Meta's policy goals.
• Represent Meta in meetings with government officials and parliament members.
• Monitor legislation affecting Meta in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and advise on policy challenges.
• Assist the Public Policy Team with organizing events, bilateral meetings, and internal administrative tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Political Science, Sociology, European Studies, or a related field.
• Experience with policy and regulatory issues such as AI, platform regulation, competition, innovation, and youth protection.
• Experience working with politicians and government officials, and in analyzing complex policy issues.
• Belief in the social and economic benefits of new technologies like AI and Meta's products.
• Full fluency in German and English.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across disciplines.
