PLC Programmer

Hunter-Davies is partnered with a global Capital Equipment firm actively seeking specialist a SPS Software Programmer skilled in B&R Automation Software to be a part of a dynamic team that's shaping the future of the Electronics industry.

Month 1 : Onboarding and Integration

• Immerse yourself in our clients collaborative culture across multiple engineering sites.
• Get familiar with our existing real-time embedded software and the tools our clients use (B&R PLC's).

Months 2-3 : Design and Development :

• Design and develop cutting-edge real-time embedded software for our clients high-end Capital Equipment.
• Begin developing new programs and modules, enhancing your skills in C programming and Control Theory.

Months 4-6 : Troubleshooting and Collaboration :

• Collaborate with our clients international service team to troubleshoot and rectify software issues.
• Gain insights from on-the-ground experience during occasional trips to customer sites worldwide.

Months 7-12 : Implementation and Growth :

• Lead the distribution and deployment of B&R PLC software while implementing robust test plans on current hardware.
• Start contributing to process improvements and play a pivotal role in our clients global team's strategy.

Year 2 and Beyond : Leadership and Influence :

• Leverage your expertise to influence product enhancements, paving your way toward career growth opportunities like principal or team lead roles in SPS Programming or other engineering support positions.
• Embrace a flexible work environment, enjoying the balance of a 40-hour work week while managing your own time.

Candidate experience and skills required in order to be successful in our clients company :

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science, Automation Technology, or Mechatronics.
• Proficiency with B&R PLCs (ideally +2 years) and solid experience in C programming.
• A strong foundation in Control Theory; experience with B&R Automation Studio.
• Beckhoff Twincat, or Codesys experience is a bonus but not a necessity.
• Good command of English; German language skills will enhance your impact but not required.

Preferred additional qualifications :

• 2+ years in professional software development.
• Experience with program libraries and agile methodologies.
