Job Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing all administrative and academic activities for UG/PG programmes offered by the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics, including current and future structures.
- Assist in managing the scheduling of didactic activities and assignment of teaching modules to professors.
- Teach 200 hours per academic year of assigned modules, aligned with curriculum and school needs.
- Ensure that the administration, proctoring, and marking of student assignments and exams are conducted properly and in accordance with regulations.
- Assist in monitoring student performance and retention rates.
- Amend, design, and develop new curricula for programmes or individual modules as needed.
- Update syllabi as required.
- Supervise up to 10 doctoral students annually.
- Provide consultation and mentorship to students and lecturers to enhance academic and professional skills.
- Create assignment briefs and exam papers if necessary.
- Cover teaching duties in emergencies.
- Offer constructive feedback to students on their progress.
- Coordinate mentoring appointments with professors.
- Assist in monitoring faculty performance, including freelancers, and prepare evaluation reports.
- Assist in assessing KPIs for faculty staff.
- Propose new faculty members for teaching positions and conduct interviews.
- Organize the academic environment to promote productivity and learning.
- Arrange training and development sessions to improve tutoring practices and introduce new techniques to professors.
- Communicate effectively with faculty and students to foster a passion for learning.
- Oversee records of student assessments, progress, feedback, and school performance, ensuring confidentiality.
- Guide professors in preparing lesson plans and tutoring sessions aligned with programme goals.
- Design engaging teaching materials to maximize student experience.
- Develop content, both written and recorded, as directed by the Provost, Chief Academic Officer, or Dean.
- Research or recommend textbooks, software, equipment, or other learning materials to enhance tutoring.
- Identify, develop, or implement intervention strategies, tutoring plans, or individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Perform routine tasks such as maintaining information files and processing related paperwork.
- Provide feedback to students on their progress when required.
- Actively promote the School and Faculty.
- Contribute to the research activities of the School.
- Participate in school activities, including extracurriculars, as required by leadership.
- Work closely under the guidance of the Provost and Chief Academic Officer or Dean.
Your Profile
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
PhD or equivalent in business or management
Postdoctoral research in IT, computer science, or informatics (desirable)
Knowledge of data analytics, predictive modeling, machine learning, and AI using Python and R
Experience with visualization tools, preferably Tableau
Experience with Big Data analytics and Hadoop clusters
Knowledge of Database Management Systems, including MySQL
Experience with Data Warehouses
Programming experience in C and C++
Experience with CAD/CAM and other design software
Exposure to robotics, mechatronics, and simulation techniques
At least 5 years of higher education teaching experience
At least 3 years in a similar university role (Assistant/Vice Dean, Head of Department)
At least 3 years in an international business sector role outside Germany
Proficiency in Windows OS, MS Office, and Microsoft Teams
Significant scientific publications, citations, and at least three books
Fluent in English (C2 level)
Knowledge of at least two foreign languages
Familiarity with educational platforms like Canvas or Blackboard
Understanding of study regulations and rules
