Financial Accountant – 6 Month Contract | Frankfurt (Hybrid)

Are you a talented and detail-oriented Financial Accountant with strong technical skills and a passion for excellence? We're seeking a driven individual to join a dynamic, international finance team in Frankfurt on an initial 6-month contract — with the strong potential to transition into a permanent full-time role based on performance.

The Role:

As a Financial Accountant, you'll take ownership of financial reporting and compliance responsibilities across German legal entities. You’ll play a key part in ensuring statutory requirements are met, partnering with internal stakeholders and external auditors, while contributing to a culture of transparency, integrity, and agility.

What You'll Do:

• Lead month-end close activities including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L analysis
• Prepare statutory financial statements under German GAAP and IFRS
• Support external audits and ensure timely completion of statutory obligations
• Assist in the preparation of tax and VAT returns, and reconcile related accounts
• Handle Accounts Payable and serve as the point of contact for T&E queries
• Collaborate with the payroll team and support payroll postings and reviews
• Contribute to ongoing legal entity rationalization projects

Requirements

What You Bring:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting or financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls
• Experience with VAT, tax accounting, and audit preparation
• Fluency in English (German is a plus)
• Meticulous attention to detail and an analytical mindset
• A hands-on, collaborative approach with the ability to meet tight deadlines
