Join the RWE Renewables team as a Senior Electrical Engineer supporting onshore wind and PV projects in Germany and help shape the future of renewable energy. The Project Engineering Germany department provides technical support and expertise in the development, construction, and operation of wind farms, focusing on Resource Assessment, Site Suitability, Civil, and Electrical Engineering.

• Support and manage projects from development to handover, ensuring robust and optimized electrical design for onshore wind and PV projects connected to the medium, high, or extra-high voltage grid.
• Handle all aspects related to transmission, distribution, and grid connection.
• Perform load flow and short circuit calculations using PowerFactory.
• Prepare grid connection applications with grid operators for renewable generation plants.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as I&C, Development, Construction, and Operations.
• Prepare tender documents for components like substations, transfer stations, and cable ground works; negotiate with suppliers.
• Oversee commissioning, supervise external service providers, and coordinate project phases until commissioning.
• Manage certification processes according to FGW-TR8 and VDE standards, from plant commissioning to conformity declaration.

Your profile

• University degree or comparable experience in electrical power supply or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing medium or high voltage systems, preferably grid connections for renewable energy projects.
• Proficiency in network calculation software such as PowerFactory; familiarity with PSS/E, PSCAD is advantageous.
• Good understanding of the German transmission and distribution network.
• Knowledge of relevant standards like VDE-AR-N 4110/4120/4130 and FGW guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across hierarchical levels.
• Project management skills, team-oriented, and capable of interdisciplinary collaboration across regions and functions.
• Fluent in German and proficient in English.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel within Germany, typically for one day per trip.
