ABOUT THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Product Safety & Quality Manager (all genders), you ensure that Zalando’s customers are not only delighted by their purchases but also trust that the products are compliant and of high quality. You will be responsible for enhancing and implementing product quality assurance and safety standards, aligned with industry best practices.

Your goal is to reduce risks associated with product delivery by optimizing existing control processes.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Experience in product quality and safety within fashion (apparel and footwear) and related industries (toys, sports, beauty, electronics).
• Knowledge of compliance systems and legislation for product compliance.
• Understanding of European/National consumer product compliance requirements, and ability to translate these into actionable measures.
• Implement a comprehensive compliance program including due diligence, documentation review, and testing.
• Coordinate with the commercial team on compliance and quality topics, providing guidance and training.
• Collaborate with partners to onboard them onto Zalando's compliance system and mitigate risks.
• Strong data orientation to analyze and communicate key insights effectively.
• Project management skills to define problems and deliver sustainable solutions.
• Stakeholder management with internal and external partners.
• Drive continuous improvement internally and externally.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• Background in product safety and quality, with passion for process improvement and understanding of manufacturing, product lifecycle, testing, and EU legislation.
• Experience in quality testing or product development in toys, sports, beauty, electronics, footwear, or fashion is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of training and delivering clear presentations.
• Independent worker with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Chemical testing or chemical knowledge is beneficial.
• Proactive, quick learner, problem solver, proficient in English.
• Strong data skills.
