Our IT Infrastructure (IT-IS) department is looking for dedicated support to help manage the specialised network group. At our two sites in Wannsee and Adlershof, we operate a complex network and face exciting challenges. Growing data volumes, stringent security requirements and the integration of innovative technologies demand forward-thinking individuals. Working alongside your team, you will establish the groundwork for a highly available IT network, enabling our scientists to research the technologies of tomorrow.

Your Tasks

• You will be responsible for operating the HZB’s IT network, as well as advising and supporting colleagues and partners in finding network solutions for their needs.
  
• You will further develop our network architecture continuously and systematically.
  
• You will balance work requirements with existing financial and personal resources to optimise your team's activities.
  
• You will initiate, manage and organise projects for both the HZB and its collaborators, thus modernising and restructuring the IT network.
  
• With your technical and organisational expertise, you will contribute to creating HZB IT guidelines and designing HZB IT services that employ network resources in a clever and efficient manner.
  

Your Profile

• Completed university education in a relevant subject, ideally computer science
  
• You possess excellent general IT skills and in-depth knowledge of developing concepts and organising IT operations, particularly in the context of complex IT networks.
  
• You are able to motivate and inspire your team, and delegate tasks effectively.
  
• You have proven knowledge of and experience in project management and business organisation (ITIL).
  
• You have excellent communication skills in German and English (both at least CEFR B2 level).

The employment contract is unlimited.The salary is based on the Collective Agreement for the German Public Service (TVöD-Bund).
