Deep Blue is hiring on behalf of a fast-growing international SaaS company, with a HQ in Berlin, you have the opportunity to work remotely. Their mission is to use technology to create impact at scale, and they’re now looking for a pragmatic, forward-thinking (Senior) Legal Counsel to help them navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with growth.

You’ll join a collaborative and ambitious environment where legal is seen as a strategic partner to the business. This is an ideal role for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys variety, autonomy, and being close to decision-making.

Tasks

  • Serve as the go-to legal advisor for teams across the business, including Marketing, Sales, Product, HR, and Finance, providing clear, practical guidance on a wide range of topics.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS contracts, supplier terms, employment-related documents, and marketing partnerships - helping to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Advise on legal matters across key areas such as commercial, corporate, employment, data protection, and IP/IT law, with a focus on balancing legal risk with business priorities.
  • Lead internal legal training initiatives and create accessible resources to strengthen legal understanding across the company.
  • Design and implement scalable legal processes and tools that support efficiency and enable growth in a fast-moving, international environment.
  • Manage relationships with external counsel on specialist matters, ensuring legal support is both cost-effective and high quality.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist), ideally with 2+ years of experience from a law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Broad understanding of core legal areas relevant to a digital business - including commercial law, data protection, employment law, and IT/IP.
  • Comfortable working in both German and English; able to communicate legal advice clearly and constructively to non-lawyers.
  • Business-oriented mindset: you’re proactive, solutions-focused, and used to juggling competing priorities.
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently, while staying connected with stakeholders across the business.

This is a unique opportunity to join a purpose-driven tech company at a pivotal stage of growth. You’ll be part of a dynamic, international team and have the freedom to shape how legal supports the business moving forward.
