What To Expect

Join Vehicle Engineering in Berlin to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy, where you will help design the next generation of Tesla's world-class engineering teams.

The Tesla Dimensional Analysis team is critical to the engineering design and development of new products at Tesla. We simulate high-volume manufacturing and influence part and process design to deliver world-class quality in all our products. The team is highly skilled in computational analysis and statistical data analysis techniques. Our responsibilities range from the very smallest dimensional precision requirements of a battery cell to the functional requirements of large castings and assemblies.

What You'll Do

  1. Dimensional CAE simulation – Utilizing dedicated dimensional variation analysis software to analyze and communicate dimensional perspectives within engineering teams and with a global manufacturing and supplier base.
  2. Full vehicle exposure – The Dimensional Analysis team works on the mechanical design of most vehicle systems, from seats to battery packs and autopilot hardware.
  3. Design Cycle Experience – The team is involved in every stage of the design cycle, from early design concepts to production ramp-up.
  4. Cross-functional Interaction – Engaging in the Dimensional Engineering process, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  5. Prior experience in a similar role is valued, but the team has openings from entry-level to expert.

What You'll Bring

  1. Education in engineering or a related technical discipline with experience in dimensional engineering, metrology, or CAE roles.
  2. Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and a robust first-principles approach.
  3. Experience with Catia or similar CAD systems and proficiency in 1D and 3D dimensional variation root cause analysis.
  4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and influence others.
  5. Comfortable with multi-variable capability analysis and statistical testing.
  6. Familiarity with GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
  7. An appreciation for craftsmanship and excellent gap and flush control in consumer products.
