What to expect

Become part of an open-minded team and analyze and solve future-oriented scientific questions focusing on power electronics in the Component Technologies department.

Your responsibilities

  • Acquire, manage, and lead research projects at national and European levels to enable the electrification of aircraft propulsion systems.
  • Develop and investigate components for generating, transmitting, conditioning, and utilizing electrical energy, especially inverters and DC-DC converters, considering aerospace requirements.
  • Develop and apply in-house methods and tools for modeling inverters and DC-DC converters.
  • Conduct detailed scientific investigations and modeling of electrical engineering, as well as structure, flow, and heat.
  • Validate work results through testing on different scales and levels of detail.

What you bring

  • A completed university degree (Master's/Diploma) and a doctorate, e.g., in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, measurement and control engineering, physical engineering, or a comparable field.
  • In-depth expertise in method development, implementation, and validation using analytical, numerical, and experimental methods in power electronics.
  • Extensive, demonstrable experience in planning and conducting specialized studies and national and EU-funded research projects.
  • Proven excellence through publications in scientific journals.
  • Advanced programming skills, e.g., in Python or MATLAB/Simulink.

If you combine creativity with interdisciplinary thinking and wish to shape your work independently and take responsibility, we look forward to your application! We offer challenging scientific questions and the appropriate research infrastructure for their implementation.
