We are seeking a Senior Originator (f/m/d) to join our E.ON Energy Markets GmbH team.

  1. Expand E.ON's sourcing activities and enhance value through complex physical or financial commodity transactions, including Renewable Power Purchase Agreements, flexibility products, weather derivatives, and other embedded derivatives.
  2. Identify and develop commercial opportunities in existing and new markets across various energy commodities such as electricity, gas, green certificates, and cross-commodity deals.
  3. Collaborate with other E.ON units to develop business opportunities and coordinate efforts to ensure business readiness.
  4. Design and implement hedging and risk mitigation strategies for transactions originating from origination activities.
  5. Work closely with portfolio management and front office teams to maximize portfolio value.
  6. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Risk, Portfolio Strategy, Finance, Legal) for transaction structuring, assessment, and approval.
  7. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including counterparties and industry associations.

Your profile

  1. University degree in economics, econometrics, finance, physics, or engineering.
  2. Strong technical and quantitative skills.
  3. Excellent understanding of option pricing theories and their application to physical assets.
  4. Ability to develop pricing tools for market-based valuation of energy assets and transactions.
  5. Proven track record in P&L contribution and closing complex commodity transactions.
  6. Deep knowledge of European energy markets, including futures, forwards, and exchanges.
  7. Familiarity with market and credit risk management, asset valuation, and structured transactions.
  8. Experience with master trade agreements like EFET and ISDA.
  9. Self-motivated, persistent, and able to thrive in unstructured environments.
  10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  11. Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
