Quality Engineer

General Job Description:

Based at G+H Schallschutz GmbH in Mannheim, Germany, but primarily working at various locations abroad in workshops, the Quality Engineer role offers an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and experienced individual with a strong technical background in welded steel constructions made of painted carbon steel or stainless steel. You will leverage your technical expertise and management skills to develop workshops capable of fabricating steel components designed by G+H, ensuring all quality requirements of G+H and our customers are met.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Explain G+H drawings, specifications, and bill of materials to fabricators and support them in interpreting these requirements.
• Advise fabricators on production scheduling.
• Respond to technical questions from fabricators regarding drawings or design.
• Review qualifications of fabricators, including WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, shop qualifications, and NDT personnel qualifications.
• Review material certificates.
• Conduct ongoing inspections, including welding seam, dimensional, and painting checks.
• Perform final inspection and acceptance of fabricated goods at the contractor's workshop.
• Review final quality documentation.
• Ensure strict compliance with all company EHS policies and procedures.
• Identify and propose improvements in processes, tools, systems, and technologies, and implement approved improvements with leadership.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a mechanical engineering apprenticeship from a reputed institution.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in metal fabrication shops.
• Knowledge and application of international codes and standards in steel fabrication.
• Analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Basic proficiency in German.
