About the role

Leonardo, a leader in the Software Development industry, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer. This full-time hybrid position (not remote) is located in Frankfurt am Main, with the flexibility of working from home up to 15 days a month. The ideal candidate enjoys fast-paced work, tight deadlines, and leading a talented team. Responsibilities include architecting, developing, optimizing, and maintaining software to deliver impactful data, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and coding approximately 80% of the time, with a live coding test during the interview.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and mentor the development team to enhance skills and performance.
2. Make key technical and architectural decisions ensuring security, efficiency, and scalability.
3. Develop the leonardo web application hands-on.
4. Conduct code reviews and uphold best practices.
5. Research and recommend new technologies.
6. Optimize code and algorithms for performance.
7. Set up and improve DevOps processes.
8. Engage with stakeholders and clients for technical feedback.
9. Deploy ML models.
10. Collaborate with Product, Design, and ML teams on feature estimates and limitations.

Requirements

1. Minimum 7 years of software development experience.
2. Experience leading, hiring, and mentoring teams.
3. Proficiency in Next.js, React.js, Node.js, TypeScript, TDD, DevOps, AWS.
4. Experience with monolith and microservices architectures.
5. Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
6. Good communication skills for team and client interactions.
7. Bonus: Familiarity with MLOps, especially large language models or computer vision pipelines.
