Senior Data Engineer

Are you an experienced Data Engineer with a passion for transforming raw data into actionable insights? Join our dynamic DP World team as a Senior Data Engineer, where you'll lead the development of robust data pipelines and drive innovation in data processing and analysis. This role is based in Duisburg, Germany, with a hybrid work arrangement.

How you will contribute

• Collaborate with the Logistics Pillar and DP World regional operations to drive technological change within Group Technology.
• Work primarily with Operations Excellence, as well as other functions including Operations, Finance, HR, Sales, and Procurement.
• Support leaders by providing performance insights for your Business Unit (BU).
• Coordinate with the senior IT shared services leadership team (Applications, Governance, Transformation, Backoffice) to ensure alignment on solutions and services.
• Partner with Group Technology Head Office on strategic initiatives.
• Maintain good relationships with procurement and finance to support DP World policies and processes.
• Support Group Compliance, Group People, and Legal teams to ensure adherence to policies and legal requirements within the region.

What you will bring

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on Databricks and machine learning.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala (PySpark preferred).
• Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and libraries.
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Databricks Associate Certification is required.
• Knowledge of MS Azure Analytics Services, including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, FiveTran, and MS Purview.
• Power BI knowledge is preferred.
