Secondment - Senior Supplier Manager OT / IT (m / f / d) - fixed term

The role

As a Senior Supplier Management professional, you will report directly to the Team Lead for IT Supplier Management. This exciting opportunity within the refreshed IT / OT Procurement and Supplier Management team offers you the chance to be part of a global team and contribute to innovative projects across all of RWE’s businesses, including Renewables, Energy Trading, and more.

Your responsibilities will include building, maintaining, and enhancing relationships with our most strategic and complex (high-value and high-dependency) IT vendors and internal stakeholders (such as IT leadership and Service Owners).

Leadership of related change projects

• Define, implement, and improve the operational governance structure and committees, applying defined policies and taking ownership of process improvements.
• Provide oversight and direction for vendor activities, ensuring performance meets expectations, monitoring vendor operations against SLAs and contracts.
• Define vendor innovation goals with strategic vendors, develop and monitor execution of innovation plans, and communicate updates to internal customers as appropriate.
• Identify and align with key stakeholders, establishing clear communication plans and implementing improvements based on feedback.
• Manage communication plans, ensure compliance with rules and procedures, handle breaches, and escalate issues as needed.
• Anticipate, identify, monitor, and mitigate risks associated with third-party IT providers.
• Promote actions that consider the strategic view, aiming to improve costs, performance, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Procurement Business Partners to understand current and future demands, structuring contract management throughout the lifecycle.
• Work with Procurement Category Teams to develop sourcing strategies, evaluate performance, and update strategies as necessary.
• Collaborate with team members, delegate tasks, and support team development.

Your Profile

• Deep experience in supplier management and related procurement practices.
• Relevant IT / OT supply market knowledge, with an interest in current trends and threats.
• Good understanding of financial principles.
• Positive influencing and interpersonal skills
• High flexibility, attention to detail, and openness to new ideas.
• Strong organizational, change, and project management skills to meet targets and collaborate effectively.
• Willingness to travel to operational sites and key suppliers.
• Excellent proficiency in English; German skills are beneficial but not essential.
