Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and carry cargo or humans in the long term.

We are seeking a talented Senior Flight Software Engineer to develop and test critical software responsible for the operation of the Nyx spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the requirements for a specific sub-system
• Implement Flight software modules (Sub-system)
• Write clean unit tests
• Collaborate with teams such as Avionics and Propulsion
• Contribute to a high-fidelity spacecraft simulator and work with the GNC team
• Conduct Integrated tests

What we would love to see from you

• Strong C++ skills (C++14 and above)
• C / Embedded C experience
• Strong Python skills
• Familiarity with debuggers (GDB, LLDB)
• Good understanding of math & physics
• Attention to detail, quality, and testing
• Experience with CI/CD and build systems

Nice to have

• Knowledge of safety-critical and real-time critical software, RTOS familiarity
• Understanding of communication protocols like TCP/IP, UART, CAN Bus, serialization
• Experience with automotive or flight software frameworks
• Knowledge of industry standards such as AUTOSAR, ECSS, DO-178
