Our Objectives and Your Role:

1. Work on an innovative product with B2B and B2C aspects at the intersection of mobility and property technology.
2. Develop and enhance our backend serving as the operating system for car parking.
3. Contribute to the improvement of our CI pipelines for backend and IoT deployments.
4. Improve our monitoring system for services with Datadog.
5. Assist in scaling our systems to manage thousands of parking lots.
6. Shape our engineering culture by employing modern software engineering practices, focusing on writing clean, well-tested, and efficient code.
7. Continuously deploy code into production.
8. Build deep knowledge of our Python-based backend services running on AWS and edge devices.
9. Manage technical debt and evolve architecture to support future requirements and meet SLAs.
10. Mentor other engineers on API and Python design patterns, cloud services, and DevOps.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

1. Real seniority, defined by impact, ownership, and continuous improvement, not just years of experience.
2. Proficiency in multiple fields such as Python, C, Node.js, AWS, and cloud services.
3. Strong experience in production projects with high throughput.
4. Proficient in backend frameworks like NestJS, Flask, Fastify, FastAPI.
5. Excellent English skills (C1 level); German not required.

Technologies We Work With:

• Event-driven backend development in Python and NestJS, following microservice architecture.
• Frontend monorepo with Turbo, pnpm, Changesets, and Storybook, primarily using Vue.js.
• TypeScript, NestJS, BullMQ, Prisma for backend development in an opinionated monorepo approach.
• AWS services including RDS, DynamoDB, S3.
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes and CI/CD with GitLab.
• Infrastructure provisioning on AWS using Terraform.

Currently, Peter Park operates over 500 edge devices across Europe, handling thousands of transactions per hour, with backend services hosted on AWS using Python and NestJS.
