Job Description

Responsible for implementing record & information management (RIM) policies, procedures, and strategies at the Abiomed Aachen site, ensuring compliance with Johnson & Johnson standards and regulatory requirements. Oversees deployment of recordkeeping standards through a federated governance model, acting as the RIM subject matter expert for Abiomed Aachen.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain accountability for RIM activities at the Aachen site, supporting documentation and escalation of issues.
  • Provide expertise to support quality results, including scanning initiatives and True Copy processes.
  • Document RIM controls and SOPs, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Ensure records compliance with legal, regulatory, and operational standards.
  • Establish and maintain a Record Inventory List with Department Records Coordinators.
  • Conduct disposition reviews and ensure proper retention and disposal of records.
  • Assist with data accession and disposition during acquisitions, divestitures, and closures.
  • Maintain data integrity through controlled vocabulary and metadata management.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Assist in legal and litigation activities, including eDiscovery.
  • Deploy data classification for business continuity.
  • Develop metrics and document processes to ensure transparency and compliance.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in archives, library, information management, education, business, or technology.
  • 2-4 years of records management experience in regulated environments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Certifications

  • Experience in medical devices preferred.
  • Knowledge of recordkeeping principles and ISO standards.
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
  • Leadership and influence skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially SharePoint and Excel.
  • Project management skills.
  • Technical and analytical curiosity, sound judgment.
  • Ability to collaborate internally and externally.
  • Experience managing complex projects.
  • Desirable: Certified Records Analyst, Certified Records Manager, or Information Governance Professional.
  • Membership in professional records management communities is a plus.
