Overview:

Our client, a leading industrial and civil contractor, is looking for a Senior Project Manager for their operations in Toronto, Canada. Their projects range from $1M to $500M, and as they continue to grow, they are seeking candidates with the following experience requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead all phases of project management including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
  2. Ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations and contracts.
  3. Act as the primary liaison with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to facilitate effective communication and project coordination.
  4. Maintain a strong focus on project safety, championing compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and company policies.
  5. Develop and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project goals and expectations.
  6. Proactively manage client expectations, keeping stakeholders informed of project developments and addressing concerns promptly.

Management Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and mentor Project Managers and other project staff.
  2. Provide leadership in hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of team members.
  3. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, ensuring clear communication and alignment with organizational goals.

Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  2. Professional Engineer (P.Eng) OR equivalent is required.
  3. 10+ years of experience in construction project management, focusing on large-scale projects (e.g., $1M - $500M in annual construction costs).
  4. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  5. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and safety regulations.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present information to diverse stakeholders.
  7. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail.
