Our work forms the basis for analyses and decisions in politics, business and science. As a system and network administrator, you will install and maintain our servers, particularly in the SUSE-Linux area, and ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems. The department is also responsible for process support for our specialist statistical procedures, network administration and the service desk.

These Are Your New Tasks

• You will be responsible for the installation, administration and maintenance of our SUSE Linux servers
• Your area of responsibility will include ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and specialist processes
• In this context, you will use the latest technologies and tools to continuously improve and automate system operation
• You will be involved in monitoring and last level support
• You regularly coordinate with the state's own IT service provider BITBW
  
  

What You Bring With You

• You have an accredited bachelor's degree or university of applied sciences degree in computer science, mathematics or physics or have a comparable education with many years of professional experience in the IT sector
• in addition to knowledge of server administration (especially Linux systems), you have experience in the virtualization of servers and with VMWare
• You are familiar with database management systems (DBMS) and JAVA containers (Tomcat, JBoss)
• Knowledge of statistics is desirable
• You actively contribute your knowledge in the field of IT security to the design of our system landscape
