As an Area Manager, you’ll ensure your site runs smoothly to meet customer demand. You will lead a team that maintains safety, efficiency, and high quality, while managing various projects across our network to drive productivity.

Key job responsibilities

  • Analyze and implement changes to maintain high quality and productivity
  • Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and enhance service quality within your area
  • Analyze shift performance against business objectives and implement actions for operational excellence
  • Collaborate with management colleagues to standardize shift practices

A day in the life

You’ll work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on productivity. Your main responsibilities include fostering a safety culture, maintaining quality, and overseeing process improvements. Your day may involve team management, operational tasks, process improvements, and contingency planning. You will also mentor new managers.

About the team

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) handles heavy items like furniture and appliances. We manage the entire process from fulfillment to delivery and returns, offering extra customer care such as unpacking, assembly, installation, and old item removal. Our focus is on safety, productivity, and innovation, with plans to expand across the UK and Europe. Most team members work during the day, with some night shifts in delivery stations. Our team includes operations, supply chain, business intelligence, and project management professionals, all vital to our growth.

Grundqualifikationen

  • A degree
  • Relevant experience in people management
  • Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders, including peers and leadership
  • Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence decisions
  • Proficiency in English and local language, both verbal and written

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques
  • Experience in logistics environments
