System Engineer

Responsibilities

1. Select hardware and software for LIMS platforms (servers, external devices, etc.) and proactively evaluate new platforms.
2. Manage and maintain the R&D development servers for LIMS, including tools to monitor the optimal environment for these systems.
3. Implement, maintain, and backup the internal development network infrastructure.
4. Collaborate with the IT security advisor and product experts in the LIMS R&D department to configure systems efficiently to secure the environment and demonstrate it to customers.
5. Define, document, communicate, and govern standards for customer systems (System-Maintenance-Guide).
6. Develop and implement platform concepts such as redundancy, security, system hardening, and patch management.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience in administering Linux servers and Shell programming in UNIX environments.
• Network experience including TCP/IP, Client/Server, HTTP, FTP, IPsec, SNMP, VPN, LDAP.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Ability to quickly learn new technical and non-technical skills.
• Experience with SQL database maintenance.
