Senior Engineering Lead – Utility Solar & BESS

Salary : up to €110,000 + bonus

We are partnered with a well-established renewable energy organization who specializes in the delivery of utility-scale solar PV and battery storage (BESS) solutions. Operating across international markets, they support the full lifecycle of clean energy projects—from design and engineering through to execution and long-term operation. Their team is driven by a shared mission to accelerate the energy transition and provide reliable, sustainable power at scale.

As Senior Engineering Lead , you’ll play a central role in shaping and delivering utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across Europe and beyond. You’ll act as the technical lead across the full project lifecycle—driving design, managing cross-disciplinary coordination, and ensuring seamless integration of PV and BESS systems. This is a strategic leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments and is passionate about clean energy innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the full engineering scope of utility-scale PV and BESS projects from pre-construction through commissioning.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams (internal and external), covering electrical, civil, structural, SCADA, and energy storage workstreams.
  • Provide technical oversight on key project deliverables—ensuring designs are optimised for performance, cost-efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the primary engineering interface with project stakeholders, EPC partners, and suppliers—resolving challenges quickly and effectively.
  • Support technical due diligence and design reviews for new project opportunities and acquisitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Energy Systems, or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in renewable energy—ideally with direct exposure to utility-scale solar PV and / or battery storage projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams across multiple project phases.
  • Deep technical understanding of PV systems, grid integration, SCADA / monitoring, and BESS technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of international and local design standards, permitting requirements, and HSE compliance.
  • Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, DIgSILENT, etc.).

If you’re passionate about renewable energy and want to play a key role in delivering meaningful, utility-scale projects, this is your chance. You'll join a growing, mission-driven team working on high-impact solar and storage developments that directly support Germany’s energy transition.
