Job Description

Amazon Operations is at the core of our company. As a Senior Operations Manager in this dynamic and challenging environment, you will have in-depth knowledge of your area. You will be responsible for operational metrics and developing strategies to meet customer needs and advance Amazon Operations. You will also lead, develop, and support your team of managers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Monitor operational metrics and business performance.
  2. Participate in budgeting, considering all aspects from finances to workforce planning.
  3. Maintain the highest standards of workplace safety.
  4. Strategic planning for the upcoming three, six, and twelve months, focusing on peak seasons.
  5. Lead and develop your team of managers, including performance reviews and feedback sessions.

A Day in the Life

You will oversee multiple logistics centers. On-site, you will foster your team and contribute to operational planning. Your role involves leading and motivating a team of managers while focusing on long-term goals. This includes creating contingency plans to maintain operations and mitigate disruptions, as well as promoting initiatives to improve quality, safety, and productivity. You will demonstrate exemplary responsibility and commitment to best practices across the company.

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant management experience in manufacturing, production, distribution logistics, retail, or food retail.
  • Experience working within a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in English and German, both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Further education such as a Master’s degree in engineering, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing.
  • Experience managing third-party relationships.
  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
