Embedded Software Engineer - DE - Westhausen
Summary
The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for embedded systems running on Linux Platform. This position within global R&D is responsible for the design and development firmware for our core power tool technologies. The role involves collaborating with firmware engineers, electrical engineers, and project management professionals to achieve common objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creation of requirement analyses, specifications, and software designs
- Design, develop, and debug software for embedded systems based on Linux platform
- Conduct unit testing, system testing, and debugging of software components to ensure quality and reliability
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and system stability issues in embedded Linux systems
- Creation of documentation, from development of concepts to complete process documentation
- Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders (system testers, product managers, customers, etc.) to verify functionality and address software issues
Critical Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in computer science or related field
- Experience in software development using C and C++
- Ability to design well-structured, reusable classes and interfaces adhering to OOP principles
- Familiarity with embedded software development tools, debuggers, and build systems
- Network or TCP/IP knowledge is desirable
- Proficiency in German and English
