As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be part of the Design and Construction team within AMZ Global Engineering services, shaping the future of the Construction Industry. We focus on safety, people, and sustainability while delivering high-quality buildings and capacity to meet customer needs.
The role is based anywhere in Europe with about 30% travel within EMEA countries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection to design, permitting, and contract execution, coordinating with design teams and stakeholders.
- Control project scope, drive decisions, clear blockers, and escalate issues as needed.
- Communicate effectively, assess risks, influence outcomes, and oversee professional service providers.
- Perform pricing reviews, negotiate costs, and manage project estimates, schedules, and forecasts.
- Supervise safety program implementation and ensure high standards and accountability.
- Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or similar with proven experience in related roles.
- Project management experience from design to operation, including negotiations.
- Experience in packaging processing/logistics facilities is a plus.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Willing to travel frequently across Europe.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, or related STEM field.
- Experience across multiple construction disciplines.
- Knowledge of BIM and experience with Amazon FC launches.
- Additional language skills like French, Polish, or Arabic are preferred.
A Day in the Life:
You will oversee Amazon's construction projects, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Your role involves contract negotiations, stakeholder management, site validation, and risk analysis. Excellent communication skills are essential to interact with all levels of management and external partners.
