We are seeking to expand our Amazon Machinery Safety Compliance Inspection team with Safety Engineers to influence the safe design and operation of Amazon's cutting-edge technology across our facilities.

Role and Responsibilities

Amazon is seeking Machinery Safety Compliance Engineers to join the High-Risk Operations team. They will ensure high safety standards in systems and processes across various facilities in Europe, conducting equipment inspections to identify safety improvements. The role requires knowledge of EU machinery safety standards, PUWER / UWED regulations, and safety engineering principles.

Key responsibilities include supporting projects, liaising with engineering teams, performing risk assessments, developing safety solutions, managing inspection teams, reviewing corrective actions, and maintaining inspection data. The role involves frequent travel (up to 60-70%).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with experience in machinery inspection.
  • Knowledge of Robotics and Material Handling Equipment.
  • Understanding of EU Machine Directive 2006/42/EC and risk assessments.
  • Experience managing machinery safety inspections across multiple sites.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Notified or Approved bodies for Machinery Safety.
  • Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent.
  • Certifications like CMSE, TUV Certified Functional Safety Engineer.
  • Experience with lean principles and project management.
