Freelance Data Security & Compliance Lead – HR Data Governance & SuccessFactors

Location : Germany (Remote with occasional on-site travel)

Language : English required; German is a nice to have

Start : ASAP

Duration : Until the end of September 2025, with a likely extension

Type : Freelance / Contract

We are currently supporting a major HR IT Transformation programme for an international client based in Germany and are looking for a Data Security & Compliance Lead with a strong background in SuccessFactors and HR data governance to drive compliance and data protection initiatives across the programme.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Serve as the lead advisor for data security, compliance, and retention policies across HR systems, with a strong focus on GDPR and global regulatory requirements
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure clear ownership and accountability for data access across roles, positions, and systems
  • Define and enforce data governance frameworks in collaboration with HR, IT, and legal stakeholders
  • Oversee the design and implementation of data retention strategies and ensure alignment with both regulatory and organisational requirements
  • Ensure SuccessFactors configurations and integrations are aligned with data privacy and security standards

Your Profile :

  • Proven experience in HR data security, compliance, and governance , ideally in large-scale transformation programmes
  • Strong expertise in SAP SuccessFactors , particularly in relation to data structures, user permissions, and regulatory compliance
  • Deep understanding of GDPR and other data protection frameworks affecting HR data
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus
  • Available to start immediately
