Staff II Engineer - Software Berlin, Germany

Drive the design of essential sub-systems for TomTom's advanced navigation system, ensuring scalability, integration, and flexibility for current and future real-world navigation scenarios.

Collaborate with the technical leadership team to create designs that enhance product quality and reduce regressions.

Work with product teams to architect software meeting quality standards.

Develop and implement testing strategies to improve integration testing quality, including downstream integration and performance aspects.

Create tools and systems to measure and ensure product quality.

Establish monitoring mechanisms to verify that deployed products meet quality goals and implement corrective actions as needed.

Address complex, large-scale problems by owning software architecture and technical designs.

Foster team success through engagement with the technical community and mentorship of less experienced engineers.

Lead technical decisions to enhance best practices in quality engineering, testing, and operations.

Participate in all project lifecycle phases from requirements gathering to testing.

Build scalable, reliable applications using optimal cloud technologies, languages, and frameworks, especially C++, Android, and Azure.

Promote a data-driven culture through targeted experimentation and insights.

Support hiring and team health initiatives.

Mentor junior staff to develop their skills and capabilities.
