Galileo Software Engineer (f/m/d) - AI development

Location: Gilching, Germany

Start date: ASAP

Working hours: Full-time, 40h/week

Requirement: EU citizenship (evidence required)

About LSE Space

We are an independent provider of space services, covering the entire life cycle of space systems, as the main subsidiary of SSC's Engineering Services. Employing over 190 engineers, we support the international space market with services including mission support, operations, consulting, and training.

Security

Due to security requirements, candidates must hold European citizenship. All potential employees will undergo reference and identity checks.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement AI concepts within existing tools
  • Review and assess prototypes using vLLM, LiteLLM, Vespa, and OpenWebUI
  • Identify improvements in validation and data access, implementing solutions
  • Develop data validation frameworks and enforce authentication mechanisms
  • Implement real-time data monitoring and logging
  • Enhance data ingestion and access layers for efficiency and security
  • Conduct end-to-end testing and validation
  • Identify future development needs for flight and ground improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency in Python (PyTorch, Polars, scikit-learn) and systems languages (Rust, Go, C++)
  • Experience with AI data pipelines, ML workflows, LLM inference, vector databases, and embedding models
  • Skills in building asynchronous APIs (FastAPI, Actix-Web) and data reproducibility tools (DVC, MLflow)
  • Familiarity with MCP server & client technologies
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
