Job Title: Embedded Linux Developer / Consultant

Role: Permanent (Full-time)

Salary: Up to €80,000

Optimus Search has recently partnered with a globally recognized broadband, audio/video, and smart grid solutions client. They have roots in Europe and have recently grown into a multi-billion-euro company. Since its inception in the late 2000s, the company has continually expanded and remained profitable.

We are seeking a motivated and talented field application engineer with expertise in Embedded Linux. This client-facing role requires effective communication skills. The ideal candidate should possess deep knowledge of the client’s products and services, with the ability to analyze customer technical requirements and provide detailed solutions.

The position is primarily based in Darmstadt, with some travel to the Frankfurt site.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer needs and deliver accurate technical solutions
• Complete documentation to high standards
• Program with Embedded Linux as needed
• Build and maintain relationships with key customer accounts
• Conduct lab demonstrations and technical presentations

Requirements

• Degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Computer Science, or related (Bachelors/Masters or higher)
• Deep knowledge and experience with Embedded Linux frameworks
• Experience in a technical or engineering role
• Familiarity with Internet Protocols (e.g., TCP/IP)
• Knowledge of WLAN, IP, GSM is preferred
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Fluency in English and German required; French is a plus
