Job overview and responsibilities

An Level 6 entry position in (FRA) is critical to supporting airport operations, service delivery, and the broader EMEA network. This role provides hands-on technical assistance, ensuring timely issue resolution and minimizing disruptions at Europe’s busiest locations. It enhances operational efficiency, improves response times, and supports key projects, including seasonal restarts and new station startups. The position works closely with and supports the senior engineer in executing initiatives, troubleshooting, and driving improvements. Employment is initially on an 18-month fixed-term contract.

  • Supports regional airports, customer service centers, contact centers, and all United Airlines facilities.
  • Includes walkthroughs, equipment support, preventative maintenance, mobility product support, infrastructure support, and inventory management.
  • Works with Sr. Support Engineer on system maintenance, diagnostics, imaging, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Attends project meetings, provides tracking and analysis.
  • Travels within Germany, Europe, and occasionally the US.
  • Occasional weekend and holiday assignments per German Working Hours Act.
  • Supports vendor task integration.
  • Communicates with end-users regarding issues and updates.
  • Ensures quality standards, reviews deliverables, and resolves issues to meet project goals on time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree or related experience.
  • 1-3 years of IT experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to explain solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-solving aptitude, persistence beyond obvious solutions.
  • Poise in high-pressure environments.
  • Commitment to self-development.
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Legal authorization to work in Germany and travel within Europe and the US.
  • Fluency in English and German; additional languages are a plus.
  • Successful interview completion.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Knowledge of digital infrastructure (copper, fiber optic).
  • Experience in similar roles with airlines.
