Sustainability Project Manager – GHG Emissions Calculation

We support public and private sector clients worldwide in the strategic orientation and implementation of goal-oriented measures towards more sustainable production pathways and ecologically and socially responsible business activities. Our aim is to help clients achieve carbon-neutrality and net-zero by developing corporate sustainability strategies, calculating product and company carbon footprints, as well as implementing sustainability measures, emission compensation, and carbon trading. We are also involved in the development and implementation of sustainability standards to ensure sustainable value chains and social compliance.

This is why the Carbon Footprint improvement team of experts is looking forward to welcoming you as a Sustainability Project Manager – GHG Emissions Calculation in a permanent full-time position at Meo headquarters in Cologne. Your main duties will be:

1. Consulting projects focusing on renewable fuels and energy, including biofuels, biomethane, eFuels, renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBOs), and SAF. Other topics include circular economy, bioeconomy, plastic waste and recycling, chemical products, and more.
2. Developing customized greenhouse gas calculations for entire supply chains using various tools and standards.
3. Performing data research, analysis, and evaluations for specific customer requests, along with report and market study preparations.
4. Conducting in-depth analyses and benchmarking of governmental regulations on GHG accounting for the relevant markets, supporting their integration into certification systems.
5. Implementing concepts and processes with our customers.
6. Supporting the development of our service portfolio and managing proposals and tenders.
7. Managing the entire project lifecycle, including scheduling, stakeholder management, documentation, controlling, and participation in client meetings and workshops.
8. Delivering company presentations at national and international public events.

Your profile

• University degree in environmental management, sustainability, chemistry, energy management, economics, engineering, resource management, natural sciences, or related fields.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in relevant fields.
• Proven experience in greenhouse gas calculations (RED methodology, GHG Protocol, or similar standards) or sustainability certification, or both.
• Experience in life cycle assessment, EU regulations, and policy consulting is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills in English (C1) and German (B2), both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to prepare professional presentations for diverse audiences.
• Proven writing skills for proposals, project documentation, and reports.
• Good client interfacing skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and build strong relationships.
• High initiative and commitment, with an independent work style and pragmatic, hands-on attitude.
• Proficient in MS Office and general IT skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally (non-regular).
