Your tasks

Are you passionate about modern C++ software development? Shape the Future of Email Platforms with Cutting-Edge Technology! Do you thrive on building high-quality, scalable backend systems? Are you eager to work in a dynamic, agile, cross-functional team? If so, join us at WEB.DE and GMX—two of Germany’s leading email providers—and help revolutionize how millions manage their email every day. Our Mail Store Development team is constantly innovating new features to enhance user experience. Ready to be part of this exciting journey?

  • You develop and maintain high-performance C++ services powering our mail store platform, optimized for deployment on dedicated hardware and Kubernetes clusters.
  • You implement new features across automated email processing systems, driving projects from initial concept through to final release.
  • You create architecture spikes and proofs of concept for complex, high-risk components while evaluating emerging technologies.
  • You collaborate closely with QA engineers, spam experts, system architects, and operations teams, contributing your expertise and innovative ideas.
  • You stay ahead of the curve by continuously learning new technologies and representing the team at internal and external tech conferences.

Your profile

Do you want to develop cutting-edge mail system features with a strong focus on quality? Are you a hands-on team player who values collaboration and continuous learning? If this sounds like you, we’re excited to meet you! Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Strong proficiency in modern C++ with solid object-oriented programming skills, including experience with STL and Boost libraries; familiarity with web technologies such as JSON and RESTful HTTP is a plus.
  • Experience working in Linux development and server environments, ideally for high-load, distributed systems.
  • Expertise in containerized microservices and cloud platform deployments, preferably Kubernetes.
  • Good understanding of automated software quality assurance practices, including unit testing, performance testing, and continuous integration/delivery within agile workflows.
  • Ideally, experience with IETF RFC mail standards; fluent English and intermediate German language skills complete your profile.
