Payroll Specialist

Managing Payroll related compliances to plan, manage, and control employee payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate employee payouts.

Activity in Detail

1. Filing returns and reports for all payroll-related statutory compliances.
2. Ensuring timely initiation of payments for all statutory dues related to payroll.
3. Accurate provisioning in books of accounts.
4. Assisting the accounting team with information required for monthly, quarterly, and annual book closures.
5. Coordinating with the claims team for processing travel or other reimbursement claims of employees.
6. Providing information for full and final settlement claims of employees leaving the company and following up on recoveries due.
7. Assisting with onboarding formalities and addressing queries from new joiners.
8. Supporting employees with queries related to salary and payroll processing.

Process Adherence / Compliance

1. Providing timely instructions to the banking team for payment of statutory liabilities, including withholding tax, insurances, pensions, etc.
2. Filing statutory returns accurately and before deadlines.
3. Managing all local payroll-related audits.
4. Ensuring compliance during statutory and internal audits.
5. Conducting due diligence for all legal and tax compliances to ensure full adherence and mitigate exposure.
6. Keeping updated on statutory changes introduced by the government affecting payroll processing.
7. Liaising with local authorities regarding payroll-related compliance issues.

Technical / Professional Skills

MBA in Finance or HR; working knowledge of payroll processing on SAP (preferred).

Must Have:

Extensive knowledge of payroll processing and related compliances, including liaison with local authorities, and proficiency in MS Excel.
