Tasks
- Manage the technical integration and operation of distributed energy resources (DERs) into our virtual power plant platform, including large-scale BESS, biogas plants, CHPs, solar parks, and wind farms.
- Participate in projects developing, building, commissioning, and operating industrial-sized DERs across Europe (focus on DE, UK, NL).
- Specify, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot technical interfaces between DERs and our VPP using protocols like Modbus TCP/RTU, IEC 104, MQTT.
- Act as level 1 support for our Short Term Trading team during asset, system, or communication outages, coordinating resolution steps with partners.
- Establish a partner and supplier network for international rollout and reliable asset operation.
- Serve as the technical business interface to the software development team.
- Ensure technical solutions meet market requirements for asset marketing on energy and flexibility markets.
Qualifications
- University degree in electrical engineering or comparable field.
- At least two years of relevant experience in technical integration and operation of (industrial) Decentral Energy Resources.
- Strong problem-solving skills; proficiency in programming languages (Javascript, Node-RED, Python) is advantageous.
- Experience with industrial automation protocols (Modbus, IEC 104, MQTT), SCADA, and virtual power plants.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), VPN, and firewalls is a plus.
- Passion for supporting the green energy transition and developing smart solutions.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams, assess connectivity and operational requirements.
- Enjoy working in diverse teams across Europe.
- Excellent English communication skills; knowledge of another European language is a plus.
