Business Engineer (m/f/d)

To expand our core team, we're seeking a Senior Business Engineer who wants to play a pivotal role in growing our business and revolutionising the private markets.

Your Role

As a Business Engineer, you bridge the gap between Business & Tech. Working on cross-department projects, you are at the core of bunch’s value generation. You make sure data is actionable and automate crucial business processes end-to-end leveraging state-of-the-art web tools.

Your Responsibilities

• Problem scoping: You work closely with colleagues across departments and jointly identify the root cause for issues and improvement areas along bunch’s business processes.

• Prioritize effectively & find lean solutions: You leverage every source of information (data, user feedback, relevant stakeholders) to conceptualize lean and impactful solutions that generate the most business value.

• Build solutions using our low-code setup: Master our low-code setup (Make.com, Retool) to quickly deliver tailored solutions and help us to further build out our data & automation platform & processes.

• Effective stakeholder communication: You effectively collaborate with business stakeholders as well as your co-workers helping you during implementation (Engineers, Product Managers, Data Analysts).

Your Profile

To excel as a member of the Data & Automation team, you should combine business acumen and tech skills to solve challenging problems effectively.

We are looking for applicants with either of the two profiles below.

With a Business Background

• You have a background in Business Administration, Economics or similar programs and have an impressive academic record.

• You have 1-5 years of professional experience in a high-paced environment where you demonstrated exceptional performance. Early-stage startup (Pre-seed to Series A) or VC/PE experience is a plus.

• You are confident working with data, can think in processes and are not overwhelmed by complex dependencies.

• You had first touch points with coding (SQL, Python, etc.) or no-code/low-code tools (make.com, Retool, etc.).

• You are a self-starter and eager to grow your technical hard skills.

• You are an absolute team player, entrepreneurial, and workindependently.

• You are fluent in English and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

With a Tech Background

• You have a background in Information Systems, Computer Science or similar programs and have an impressive academic record.

• You have 1-5 years of professional experience in a high-paced environment where you demonstrated exceptional performance. Early-stage startup (Pre-seed to Series A) or VC/PE experience is a plus.

• You’re proficient in at least 1 programming language (Javascript and Python are most relevant) and modelling of relational database schemas and experienced in contributing to efficiently shipping features.

• You are a self-starter who’s excited about finance, private markets and investing, eager to understand the mechanisms and operations behind it.

• You are an absolute team player, entrepreneurial, and workindependently.

• You are fluent in English and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Interview Process

• The Get-to-know Call is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, determine if what we’re offering aligns with what you’re looking for, and asses which area of focus matches your goals and interests. We will talk about bunch’s mission, how the Business Engineer fits into this vision and what a Business Engineer’s responsibilities are.

• The take-home Case Study gives you the opportunity to showcase your approach to problem-solving and your ability to build and shape your ideas effectively. At the same time, it is designed to give you a good idea of what it means to be a Business Engineer at bunch.

• During the Case Study Interview, we will explore your case results and have a discussion based on it. This interview will be led by the team you’d be most likely to join.

• Finally you will (on-site or remotely) get a chance to meet the team to learn more about the company’s culture and make sure it is a great fit for you.
