System Engineer

Your responsibilities

• Select the hardware and software of the LIMS platforms (servers, external devices, etc.) and proactively evaluate new platforms.
• Manage and maintain the LIMS R&D development servers, including tools to monitor the optimal environment for running these systems.
• Implement, maintain, and back up the internal development network infrastructure.
• Work with the IT security advisor and product experts in the LIMS R&D department to configure our systems efficiently to secure the environment and showcase it to customers.
• Define, document, communicate, and govern standards for customer systems (System-Maintenance-Guide).
• Develop and implement concepts for our product platform (e.g., new redundancy, security concepts, system hardening, platform patch management).

Your profile

• Experience in administering Linux servers and shell programming in UNIX environments.
• Network experience (TCP/IP, Client/Server, HTTP, FTP, IPsec, SNMP, VPN, LDAP).
• Fluent in English and German.
• Ability to quickly assimilate new technical and non-technical skills.
• Experience with SQL database maintenance.
