  • The department "Flight Management Systems" is in charge of system design and development of military and civil Flight Management Systems (FMS) and Flight Guidance functions.
  • Mission (re-)planning aspects in projects like FCAS.
  • Research activities in various topics.
  • Investigation and development of algorithms to incorporate different technical and operational aspects into different optimization approaches.
  • Integration of these functions in a demonstrator for wider functional context.
  • Specifying and managing Verification & Validation activities, including laboratory tests.
  • Prepare demonstrations for other stakeholders / the customer.
  • Document the results, identify gaps, and formulate a way forward.

Qualifications:

  • Completed studies, ideally a master's degree or diploma in computer science, engineering, or aerospace.
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in the information systems environment.
  • Experience in (Mission) Network Systems, Time Synchronization Systems, Flight Management Systems, or similar is desirable.
  • Experience with machine learning (supervised or unsupervised) is beneficial.
  • Very good knowledge of English; German knowledge is a plus.
  • Willingness for short-term business travels to France, Spain, and within Germany (up to six times a year).
  • High degree of motivation.
