Job Description

We are seeking an Equipment Engineer (d/m/f) for Eurofighter Sensor systems within the Electronic Warfare and Weapon Systems Center of Competence at Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. Our team develops sensor equipment solutions for the Eurofighter, including E-Scan Radar and Electronic Warfare products, supporting the entire product lifecycle from research and feasibility studies to integration, qualification, and fleet support.

The ideal candidate will support the upgrade of the Eurofighter's Defensive Aids system. Your tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Analyze Eurofighter avionics and equipment requirements to derive software and hardware development requirements in cooperation with suppliers.
  2. Support requirements-based engineering and validate derived requirements and related designs.
  3. Harmonize development and qualification planning between Airbus Engineering and suppliers.
  4. Support qualification and verification activities at supplier premises.
  5. Validate supplier documentation and contribute to milestone reviews.
  6. Conduct technical workshops with stakeholders from Airbus, suppliers, and partners.

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master in Software Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of requirements-based engineering, software, and airborne electronic hardware development processes.
  • Understanding of Electronic Warfare functionality and technology.
  • Knowledge of qualification/certification standards such as DO-254 and DO-178.
  • Knowledge of Eurofighter Weapon System Avionics is advantageous.
  • Experience in developing and integrating equipment within complex weapon systems is a plus.
  • Experience managing equipment suppliers in the aviation industry.
  • Fluent in German and English with good communication skills.
  • Interest in international projects and interdisciplinary teamwork.
