Small Farms Outreach and Communications Assistant, Salem

This part-time position (maximum 19 hours per week) is ideal for students interested in outreach and engagement related to small farms. The role is primarily remote, with some training and events in the Salem area. Flexibility in scheduling is available, but some weekday availability between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. is required.

Position Overview

The assistant will support the program coordinator by managing social media pages, regional online newsletters, email lists, and assisting with programming and event planning.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in high school, community college, or university and pursuing a relevant program.
• Meet academic standing requirements; students on suspension are ineligible.
• Meet the minimal enrollment standards: High School students: enrolled in a high school or homeschooling; Undergraduate/post-baccalaureate: 6 credit hours per term; International students: 12 credit hours per term; Graduate students: 5 credit hours per term; International graduate students: 9 credit hours per term.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Experience with social media and graphic design.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with agriculture is a plus but not required.

Working Conditions

If selected for an interview, candidates will be asked to provide a graphic design sample.
