The art of Network Planning and Scheduling is at the heart of Airlines. It defines what an Airline intends to fly for a specific future period including routes, timing, aircraft assignments, and rotations. At the same time, it must satisfy operations constraints (crew, aircraft maintenance, airport curfew, passenger types (business, leisure, booking habits) and factor uncertain future environment (competition, pandemic evolution). Proficient in technical knowledge to support the team in delivering consistent results. Is recognized for expertise in own area and may formally train Specialists/Senior Specialists.
Understands how main business drivers may impact own area. Can assess a range of challenges with broad impact on the activity, improve processes, recommend solutions and risk mitigation plans. Able to communicate complex information clearly.
Works with a high level of autonomy, based on management directions. Guides projects or contributes to broad cross-functional projects.
Specific accountabilities
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with both IT and Business teams, at the appropriate functional and operational level, to reinforce and sustain strategic partnership with customers.
Effectively manage the ongoing pipeline and status of all functional deliverables, according to customer commitments and expectations, including standard products, Day-2 deliverables, bespoke development, consulting and other services.
Provide regular summaries covering the risks/issues that need management attention.
Serve as a key contact for resolving ongoing functional issues through the extended account team and meetings with line management.
Support delivery of solutions or services to customers as defined in the contract and help ensure customers understand their full capabilities.
About the ideal candidate
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in Airline Network Planning & Scheduling, with exposure to both business and technical areas.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
Effective relationship management skills at multiple levels and across teams.
