Supplier Development Engineer (m/f/d)

Main Responsibilities
- You monitor the supplier pool and associated documents. Suppliers are blocked and unblocked by you.
- You support your colleagues in Purchasing with supplier selection.
- You perform potential analyses according to VDA6.3 before supplier approval and monitor corrective measures globally.
- You oversee the quality performance of suppliers and coordinate closely with manufacturing plants. In case of deviations, you manage the quality improvement program, identify potential for improvement, and develop suppliers according to IATF16949 standards.
- You prepare and lead quality and escalation meetings.
- During crises, you coordinate analyses and correction processes across all plants, escalating and de-escalating as needed.
- You regularly inform suppliers about quality performance, request corrective actions, and monitor their implementation.
- You participate in the development of SQ tools and processes.
- You report directly to the Head of Supplier Development.
Requirements
- Technical studies focused on mechanical engineering or similar, or technician training with additional qualification as QMB or Quality Manager.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in quality management, either with suppliers or customers.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of standards such as IATF16949, DIN 14001, VDA6.3.
- Sound knowledge of complaints management and processing.
- Strong awareness of quality and costs.
- Proficiency in IT applications such as MS Office, SAP, and CAQ systems like QS1.
- Knowledge and experience with APQP processes.
- Experience in manufacturability evaluations and assessments.
- An independent, responsible, and proactive personality with a role model mentality.
- Flexibility for high, spontaneous, and international travel.
- Excellent coordination, organizational, and assertiveness skills.
- Strong methodological skills in moderation, visualization, presentation, and decision-making.
- Excellent communication and intercultural skills.
- Experience in lean production, logistics, and supply management.
