Your tasks and responsibilities

We have several topics related to structural analyses of satellites, instruments, and mechanisms available, which will be discussed during the selection process. Your final year project may involve tasks such as:

  • Creating Finite Element (FE) Models of satellite structures, instruments, or components, compliant with department standards.
  • Conducting linear static, sine, and random vibration, as well as vibro-acoustic structural analyses.
  • Performing thermoelastic distortion analyses.
  • Assessing structures through hand calculations.
  • Developing tools in Matlab or Hypermesh scripting for automation of analysis tasks.
  • Preparing technical documentation in English or German.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Enrolled Master student (d/f/m) in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar.
  • Good understanding of structural dynamics.
  • Practical experience with finite element analysis, preferably with Hypermesh and MSC Nastran.
  • Knowledge of signal processing and programming, e.g., Matlab.
  • Experience with Windows and UNIX systems and standard tools like MS Office.
  • Experience with vibro-acoustic analyses is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluent English; German is a plus.
