A Japanese multinational trading company in Frankfurt is currently recruiting a Quality Engineer for their office. You will be in charge of a wide range of Quality roles under the supervision of one Quality manager.

The job involves diverse responsibilities, but you are not required to have all the experience upfront.

They are willing to provide training if you are eager to learn.

Business level fluency in either English or German is mandatory.

Type: Permanent, full-time

Working hours: 8:30-17:00 from Monday to Friday (flexible hours negotiable)

Start date: ASAP

Location: Frankfurt

Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance and Quality Auditing for suppliers and Quality Engineering.
  • Maintain good relationships with clients (mainly Tier 1 and Tier 2).
  • Analyze root causes of defects, discuss with suppliers, and prepare countermeasure reports for customers.
  • Visit customers and suppliers to negotiate quality issues and corrective actions.
  • Inspect products at our warehouse to evaluate quality of imports from Asia.
  • Develop sorting plans and manage defected products.
  • Approve incoming parts based on specifications, reject unacceptable parts.
  • Support project launches, including PPAP documentation, environmental compliance, and process evaluations.
  • Engage in technical discussions regarding manufacturing and quality requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and reduce defect rates.
  • Lead and manage the supplier quality department.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and audits.
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers and Engineers to promote new business opportunities.
  • Manage ISO certifications, including ISO 9001.

Required Skills

  • Experience in one of the following roles: Quality Engineer, Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, Parts Inspection, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Parts Sales.
  • Fluent in English or German.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or VDA is advantageous.
  • Understanding of PPAP documentation, including Control Plans, FMEAs, Inspection Reports, and Gage R&R.
  • Experience with VDA 6.3 is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes like pressing, machining, forging, and molding.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills using tools like 5WHY, Ishikawa diagrams, Pareto charts, and histograms.
  • Willing to travel for business within Europe and Asia.
