What you can expect

To enhance our team in Lingen, we are looking for a Technical Solution Specialist / Fracture Mechanics Engineer (all genders welcome) - Hydrogen and Future Fuels Business Line -

As a Technical Solution Specialist, you will be part of the Hydrogen and Future Fuels Business Line (HYFF) and work to develop solutions to test mechanical properties in hydrogen based on our clients’ needs and in line with the sales strategy. A deep understanding of fracture mechanics will help to identify the best technical strategies and collect the data needed to build an integrity database. You will consider both technical and operational risks.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Planning and development of testing solutions with a focus on fracture mechanics properties of steel in hydrogen pressure gas environments within interdisciplinary teams (e.g., Testing Laboratory and Integrity Team)
  2. Support and advice for the sales team on technical and commercial issues worldwide
  3. Develop a knowledge base regarding material properties in hydrogen
  4. Responsible for implementing risk assessments during the concept and offer phases
  5. Assist in preparing quotations and contract-specific documentation considering customer operating conditions
  6. Support the sales process and strengthen customer relationships

What you will bring

  1. A degree in materials engineering, mechanics, or a related field, with experience in fracture mechanics
  2. Enthusiasm for steel as a material and its requirements in environments with corrosive or degrading media
  3. Ability to work in a team, open-mindedness, hands-on mentality
  4. Good written and spoken English skills; basic German language skills are desirable
  5. Slight willingness to travel
