What will you be doing?

The Business Insights Analyst will act as a trusted advisor to a major Swiss retailer by delivering new client-led solutions and data-driven insights, as well as providing consulting services and day-to-day operational support. Using Circana’s proprietary analytical solutions, the primary activities will include designing, developing, and delivering new capabilities that enable users to analyze customer insights and make data-driven decisions. You will also contribute to customer insights projects, communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, identify new growth opportunities, and foster relationships with retail partners to drive mutual value. This role is preferably based in Germany, with consideration for other EU countries, and requires regular travel to Zurich.

Reporting to the Head of Client Partnerships EMEA, the role involves:

  1. Embedding Circana’s customer insights solutions within retailer and supplier processes through developing report visualizations and dashboards, and supporting training and onboarding.
  2. Collaborating with global teams to leverage best practices and introduce new ideas.
  3. Working with retail stakeholders to ensure customer data underpins analytical and business processes.
  4. Creating and delivering industry-leading customer insights analyses to understand behaviors and drive actionable recommendations.
  5. Managing daily operations of customer insights technology, including quality checks and problem resolution to maintain SLAs.
  6. Sharing best practices and capabilities from other regions to support continuous learning.

Requirements

  1. Ideally a degree holder with 2-4 years of relevant professional experience.
  2. An analytical mindset capable of drawing insights, conclusions, and making recommendations.
  3. Understanding of retail, grocery, or manufacturing industries, including data assets like POS, market measurement, loyalty, or shopper data. Experience with supply chain or retail media is a plus.
  4. Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to internal and external audiences.
  5. Ability to transfer knowledge and analysis in an easy-to-understand manner, non-technical language preferred.
  6. Detail-oriented, collaborative, capable of managing projects.
  7. Service-oriented, professional, proactive, self-motivated, with a 'can-do' attitude, able to work independently.
  8. Proficiency in Office 365, Tableau, Power BI, with additional skills in SQL, Snowflake, R, or SPSS considered a bonus.
  9. Fluent in German and English; eligible to work in the EU.
